Hey There - After ten years, I thought it might be time to let you know about this show on the folk list serv.  I'm Ivy Sheppard of Upper Emory, Virginia, centered in the Appalachian mountains of Southwest Virginia.  I am born in and drawn to the old-time, bluegrass and country blues of our American South.  Born in the Mountain is a weekly two-hour exploration into the music from the foothills of the Blue Ridge and beyond as heard mostly at 78 speed. My show is aired on various NPR stations - and emanates from the studios of WEHC in Emory, VA.

Rarely a new artist gets my ear, and Ed Snodderly certainly has with his latest release, Baggage Flies Free. The second half of this week's show is an in studio interview featuring a few cuts from the recent release. Learn a little bit about Ed's way of thinking and check out one the great Southern songwriters of our time.
